33.5 Weeks!

So here is my growing belly at 33.5 weeks! It is getting huge and so are the stretch marks ... which I don't care about, as long as Miss Peyton is healthy! :) This week so far has been my favorite out of all the weeks, and I think that Chris would agree! We have been watching my belly move as Peyton moves and it is one of the most amazing things to see! We laid in bed for a 1/2 hour the other night after dinner just playing "games" with her, talking to her and watching her "play" back with us! Looking forward to meeting her and seeing how active she is outside of my belly :)

Peyton's Room UPDATED!

My mom and I (and Chris for the building of the furniture) have been working really hard on Peyton's Room and it is really coming together now! I've had a picture in my head of our daughters room since before I was even pregnant (surprise surprise!) and just to see it come together exactly how I have pictured is amazing! I am so happy with the way it turned out and can not wait to put our little one in there! I hope she loves it just as much as I do :)

I haven't posted in a while but my tummy is getting bigger and bigger by the day, as you can tell by the stretch marks in this picture! The last dr appt went really well and I am exactly on track of where I need to be. Peyton is growing and is very healthy! :) We are counting down the days until we get to meet our little princess ... it seems so close but yet so far.

25 Weeks

I can't believe that I am 25 weeks ... and only have 15 more to go! I remember when I was 12 weeks and that doesn't seem that long ago! WOW ... how time flies! I just hope that it goes this quickly all the way up until we meet Miss Peyton! :) We had a doctor's appointment on Friday and everything looks great! Peyton is VERY active said the Dr, and her heart rate was 158! The fundal measurement measured at 25cm ... so we are right on track! AND I had quite the weight gain this past month ... 6 lbs! So I am at a total of 12.8 lbs since the beginning of my pregnancy! We now go back for our next Dr appt in 3 weeks (Nov 2nd) and then after that we start going every 2 weeks ... this makes me excited because it just means we are getting closer to the end!! Peyton has been moving around a TON ... she has been kicking, punching, and doing somersaults galour! Chris can feel her all the time now which is very exciting for us! We are loving every moment of it!

Peyton's Room Con't ...

Yesterday we headed down to my Nana's in the states to pick up all of Peyton's furniture that we had delivered to her house! After 3.5 hours (with the help of Tyler & Chelsea) we finished putting it together. Here are the end results ...

The beginning of Peyton's Room

Chris and I decided that we were going to have a pink & brown theme to Peyton's room ... so I talked to my "interior designer mom" to get here opinion and she thought it was a great idea and offered to help paint! Well right after we found out we were having a girl, I went out and bought the paint. Of course I wanted to start painting right away so I started myself ... well that didn't work out so well ... my back killed. Amie offered to come over and help paint for a bit and she was over for about an hour and got pretty much the whole first coat on. Yeah for Amie!! :)My mom then came over and painted all the trim and while we were in Edmonton ... she finished the second & third coat! :) Today, my mom and I painted the brown circles and I finished the letters and put them up! We ordered the furniture and as soon as it all gets delivered and set up, I will post more pics! For now ... enjoy what we have done so far!

The sign on her door that Daddy says he's going to
put on the front door of our house when she
gets older!

Can you guess who's room it is?

Her closet ... full of clothes :)

Her windows ... they will have pink & brown valances
on them soon!

21 Weeks

Here is my belly at 21 weeks. I am starting to put on more weight now! We had a doctor's appointment on Friday and I have put on a total of 6.8 lbs since the beginning of the pregnancy! Everything is going as planned, the fundal height measured at 21cm which is perfect since I am 21 weeks :) Peyton is very healthy and moving around ALOT!! Her favorite time to be active is between 9:30 and 10:30 at night ... her Daddy has now felt her move, as well as, her Nana J & Uncle Sean! Our next doctor's appointment is on Oct 12th. Chris and I are off to Edmonton this Friday for the weekend to spend some time together at West Edmonton Mall, shopping & celebrating a belated 1st wedding anniversary!

We're having a little GIRL :)

As you can tell by the new color of our blog (haha) we're having a little girl! We went for our 3D Ultrasound yesterday and that's what they told us! :) We don't have any pictures from the ultrasound yet because Peyton is still quite tiny and the pictures were a bit blurry ... so they asked us if we wanted to come back at 26 weeks (NO CHARGE!) and do the ultrasound again and get the pictures and DVD then! It was still so neat to see though ... what a great experience. I recommend it to anyone, even if you don't want to find out the sex. We can't wait to go back and see how much she has grown and all the changes in her features! I must say though ... she did look pretty cute and definitely has her Daddy's cute little lips! ;) But who am I kidding, she is our daughter and I'm sure I'm a bit bias already! ;)

18 weeks!

So I'm 18 weeks today! YEAH! Almost half way there! And want to hear something great ... Daddy comes home tomorrow! :D The baby is really starting to move around. Last night I was laying in bed and my belly itched, so I itched it, stopped & the baby starting "flicking" the inside of my tummy then stopped. So I did it again, and the baby did it again. This went on about 6 or 7 times ... it was amazing!! That was the first time I've actually known for sure it was the baby! So a week from today is our first ultrasound (Sept 4th) so we will be posting pics ... then on September 15th we go for our 3D Ultrasound!! YEAH! That will be so great! Then we will know the sex 100% for sure! Anyways, keep checking back for the ultrasound pics!

16.5 weeks (Hi Daddy!!!)

I had my 4 month check up today at the doctor. Everything went great! My mom (Nana J) got to come and hear the heartbeat since Chris was unable to make it due to being up North. She was so excited. The baby was pretty active ... Dr.Enns said he could feel movement and the heartbeat was at 158 :) They did the dreadful weigh in and to my surprise I have only gained 2.1 lbs since the beginning of the pregnancy! All the blood work that I had taken last appointment was all negative (which is a postive thing!!) So all and all, Mommy & Baby are doing great! The next big appointment is on September 4th when WE FIND OUT THE SEX OF THE BABY!!! Chris is suppose to arrive back in Vancouver on September 3rd ... I know ... we're cutting it close!! Then we have a follow up dr. appt on the 14th :)

We heard the HEARTBEAT!!

We had our 12 week prenatal appointment today! It was so nice, Chris was able to get off work early and come to the appointment so that was really great. The heartbeat was strong, loud and fast. We didn't ask what the RPM was because we were both too excited BUT the dr called me this morning to tell me and it was 168! It was absolutely amazing! :) It really makes it so real, and to know that I am carrying around a little one truly is incredible! We will be posting some pictures soon ... I havent changed much if at all since the last ones though! My next appoinment is on August 16th and we have our ultrasound on September 4th to find out the sex of out little one! :)

Baby Names

So we have officially decided on names ... we pretty much have been tossing these names around for a LONG time ... but here they are:

For a girl: PEYTON ELIZABETH LEE VEENSTRA
** Elizabeth is after Chris' grandma & Lee is after my Nana **

For a boy: JACKSON WILLIAM ROBERT VEENSTRA
** William is after Chris (it's his middle name) and his grandpa & Robert is after my papa and my brother (it's his middle name) **

So if it is the case that we are having twins, and they aren't a boy & a girl ... we have some other names on the back burner, but those aren't fully decided ... we will let you know if & when we find out twins or no twins and the sex of the baby(s) Let us know what you think!! :)

Baby Bump ... one or two?!?! :)

I'm sorry to everyone that has been waiting for pictures ... I am really hoping to post some tonight!! :) As soon as Chris gets home from work I will try! But anyways ... to all of you that haven't seen me lately ... my tummy is HUGE!! I look like I am 5 months pregnant! So we are thinking that it may be twins! Chris, myself, my mom, and many others have a slight suspicion that it could be! Twins run in both sides of our family and there is a chance that we may have them ... so we will see! Of course I will keep you posted on anything and everything that I know!

First Dr. Appt :)

So today was my first doctors appt. and it is offical WE ARE PREGNANT!! I know I took 4 tests, but to hear it come out of the doctors' mouth made it feel real :) I am SIX weeks pregnant, and everything is looking good so far! The offical due date is Jan. 29 2008! I have my 12 week check up on July 19th and that is when we can hear the heartbeat and really get started with all the appointments! Chris is going to come to this appt. so that will be really nice! We also found out that at the beginning of September have an appt. in Langley to do our ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby! This appointment could be in the middle of August but we made it for the beginning of September so that Chris will be home from up North to come with me!! :) That is about it!! I will be posting a picture soon of me at 6 weeks!

We're Pregnant!!

So after TWO (well 4 if you count the ones that I put in the holder wrong) positive pregnancy tests ... it is offical ... we're pregnant!! :) So here is the story of how we found out! I took the first (EPT) test. It had one faint line and one dark line (2 lines means your pregnant!) I, right away, thought that meant negative and then somewhere on the package had read that it meant positive. I still was unsure so decided to take one of the other ones ... ended up that I put it in the holder wrong ... this one was digital. Well everytime you put it in the holder wrong you have to wait 30 minutes for it to reset. I did this twice!! They both had 2 lines on them but for all I knew this could have meant negative. I put the next one in the holder and this time I knew that I had done it right. I walked away to let it do its thing and actually forgot about it for a few minutes when the phone rang and I was doing something else. I honestly thought it was going to come up negative so I wasn't too rushed about looking at it again! I walked back to the bathroom and looked down ... there was a huge PLUS sign!! I was PREGNANT ... I pulled out the EPT test I did earlier and both lines had darkened and it was definitly POSITIVE as well! I called Chris right away and said "You're going to be a Dad!!!" he was really excited and you could tell he couldn't wait to get home!! So that is the story of how we found out we were pregnant!! :) I have my first doctors appointment on Monday June 4th so I will update after then!! :)
